GigaBash + Godzilla DLC Review

Everyone wants the old Xbox/PS2/GameCube Pipeworks Godzilla games to come back, but that ain't happening. Sorry. It just isn't possible. We do have the next best thing available on all platforms right now, though, which is an indie monster brawler that plays almost exactly like those old games! Even better, it actually has Godzilla monsters available as DLC (along with Ultraman, if you're into that).

It plays great, looks and sounds very good, and is packed with content, so GigaBash is pretty easy to recommend to kaiju fans, especially if you loved the old Pipeworks brawlers. The main game is $25 and the extra DLC is $6-10 each, so it costs about $50 to get everything in the game currently. It does go on sale pretty frequently, though, so you can get it for less if you're patient.

The plan for the future of the game is to continue to add more content via these DLC packs, so if you want to see more Godzilla monsters, or Gamera, or whatever else you really need to support the game now so more cool stuff can come out later.

I do want to say, too, that the original monsters in the game are also pretty cool on their own. They're all sort of copies of typical kaiju you'd expect, but still cool. You can play as a building, which is the dumbest coolest thing ever.
